Company Vivi is the only passenger-carrying railway company in Latvia, operating both electric and diesel trains on various lines throughout the country.

An e-ticket is purchased and paid for on Vivi website or mobile application, which is electronically registered in JSC "Pasažieru vilciens". When you buy a ticket, you receive a QR code. This is your ticket.

RIGA
There are three types of public transport in Riga – tram, trolleybus and bus.The purchased ticket is valid for travel on any type of transport in Riga.

Bus route No. 22 is one of the most popular route among tourists of Riga. This is understandable, it takes passengers from Airport Riga to the city center and back. This is the only route in Riga where you can buy a ticket from the driver. The ticket can only be paid by bank card, the ticket price is 1.81 EUR. Bus route No. 22 also accepts other types of tickets, which can be purchased in advance at kiosks or ticket machines.
All purchased tickets for travel on public transport in Riga are loaded by the seller onto the E-talon start card. The E-talon can have different designs, but you will always see the e-talon sign on the travel card. It is possible to download the following types of tickets:
- A 90-minute ticket
It can be used for 90 minutes, with the option to travel on any tram, trolleybus or bus route, a ticket must be registered each time another public transport vehicle (tram, trolleybus, bus) is entered. Registration of the last ticket can be made in the 89th minute from the first registration and is valid up to the final stop.
- a 24-hour ticket EUR 5,00,
- a three-day ticket EUR 8,00,
- a five-day ticket EUR 10,00,
- one-month ticket EUR 30,00.
All tickets must be registered each time another public transport vehicle (tram, trolleybus, bus) is entered!
Passengers without a valid ticket are subject to penalty fare of 15 to 30 euros.
The mobile application "Rīgas satiksme"
is designed for purchasing code tickets online and for use in trams, trolleybuses and buses. When boarding a vehicle, a ticket purchased on the phone must be activated by scanning the square code, which is located in several places throughout the vehicle. If a controller appears, open the application and present the digital registered ticket to the controller.
Application "BezRindas.lv" will allow you to quickly and conveniently buy tickets for international flights or inter-city buses.

LIEPAJA
Liepāja has an extensive public transport system, which includes trams, buses, and small-capacity buses on certain routes. An electronic payment system operates in Liepāja public transport along with paper tickets. Public transport tickets are valid for all types of transport.
- Public Transport paper tickets will continue to work and can be purchased from the driver using payment card.
- To start using e-ticket system, passengers need to download the Liepaja City app from the Google Play or App Store to smart device. Create own user account. A user account can also be created in the electronic transport ticket system www.liepajastransports.lv in the e-ticket section. After creating an account, passengers can purchase electronic tickets in the Liepaja City app or in the electronic transport ticket system www.liepajastransports.lv.
An electronic ticket must be registered for each trip, including a season ticket valid for several trips, days or a month.
- Passengers will be able to purchase a plastic electronic card as well. Electronic tickets can be purchased at the agency’s ticket office and other ticket sales points.

Ticket pricing
- 0,90 EUR – one-way ticket purchased in advance;
- 1,50 EUR – one-way ticket purchased from the driver;
- 8,50 EUR – a set of ten tickets, purchased in advance;
- 3 EUR – day ticket, purchased in advance, active from the moment of validating till 24:00;
- 6 EUR – three-day ticket, purchased in advance, valid from the day of purchase till the third day 24:00*;
- 9 EUR – five-day ticket, when purchased in advance, valid from the day of purchase till the fifth day 24:00*;
- Children under the age of 6 do not need to buy a ticket.
Monthly season tickets
One month season ticket for daily travel - 30.00 EUR
One month season ticket for weekdays travel - 24.00 EUR
One quarter season ticket for daily travel - 75.00 EUR
DAUGAVPILS
Public transport in Daugavpils is provided by the company "Daugavpils satiksme". There are 5 tram and 33 bus routes in the city.
Single trip fee EUR 1.00. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket conductor, payment in cash.
Tram and Bus Tickets:
- single fare for one trip 1.00 EUR
- for persons who have reached the retirement age of the Republic of Latvia, the single fare for one trip is 0.50 EUR
- fee for carrying baggage (size from 60*40*20 cm to 100*60*30 cm) 0.50 EUR
Categories of passengers entitled to discounted travel on city public transport are exempt from carrying baggage.

- the fee for a monthly ticket for public transport on all tram and bus routes on all days of the month is 45.00 EUR
- the fee for a monthly ticket for public transport on all tram and bus routes on working days of the month is 35.00 EUR
- the fee for a monthly public transport ticket for pensioners on all tram and bus routes on all days of the month is 15.00 EUR
- The fee for a monthly public transport ticket on all routes on all days of the month is 20.00 EUR for full-time and part-time students of vocational educational institutions located in the administrative territory of the municipality.
Monthly public transport tickets
can be purchased:
- every month from the 20th to the 6th of the following month at the bus station Viestura Street 10. Cash desk hours: every day from 07:00 to 19:00
- at the conductors (adult monthly tickets only). Payment in cash only.
- Monthly tickets can be purchased every month from the 22nd to the 5th of the following month at the SIA "Daugavpils satiksme" cash desk: 18. novembra Street 183. Cash desk hours: on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00 Saturdays from 9:00 to 15:00.
Ferry
Latvia has regular passenger ferry traffic from both Liepāja and Ventspils. From Liepāja, you can reach Lübeck/Travemünde in Germany, and from Ventspils, you can reach Nynäshamn in Sweden, near Stockholm.
There are occasional ferries operated by Viking Line or Tallink-Silja to Helsinki, but they are often only available during the summer months.
As an alternative to Latvia, consider taking a ferry from Estonia or Lithuania.
